Pro-Palestinian protesters have chucked “blood-red paint” at the BBC’s headquarters in London.
They also smashed the windows in a demonstration against the broadcaster's “ongoing complicity in the genocide of Palestinians through its entrenched pro-Israel bias”.
On Monday at 2.50am, the Metropolitan Police said they had been called to “reports of criminal damage” at an office building.
Palestine Action claimed that “for years, the BBC has consistently minimised Israel’s violence against Palestinians while amplifying the narratives of the oppressors, perpetuating a deadly cycle of misinformation and false equivalency”.

The group said that the red represents the broadcaster’s role in the bloodshed in Gaza. It also said that the BBC has “whitewashed” Israel’s role in the war.
A spokesman for the group added: “The BBC’s biased reporting isn't a simple case of poor journalism – it's a matter of life and death. By downplaying Israeli war crimes, the BBC is complicit in the genocide unfolding in Gaza.
“This isn't just about the news – it's about the role of the media in shaping global complicity. The BBC has blood on its hands, and today’s action is part of a wider campaign to hold them accountable. We will not stand by as the BBC sanitizes genocide.”
A Met Police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 02:50hrs on Monday, 17 February to reports of criminal damage to a building in Portland Place W1.

“Red paint had been sprayed on the wall of the building and glass doors smashed.
“No arrest has been made and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 617/17Feb.”
It is the second time the broadcaster’s headquarters at Portland Place has been vandalised by members of Palestine Action.
In October 2023, the group sprayed the headquarters with blood-red paint, in response to its coverage of Palestine, that “has been complicit in manufacturing consent for the occupation's genocide of Palestinians”.

Last month, pro-Palestine activists carried out a spree of vandalism attacks on 15 locations across the UK and Europe.
Campaigners targeted offices of German insurance firm Allianz, which it claimed was “deeply complicit in the genocide in Gaza” with nine offices in the UK and six on the continent subjected to the attacks.
Buildings in Bristol and Glasgow were pictured daubed in blood-red paint overnight - while footage has circulated online of vandals smashing in the doors and windows of Allianz's One Trinity Gardens office in Newcastle.
