Police have released the last known footage of a missing woman who officers fear has been murdered

A 24-year-old woman was spotted shopping in Asda in a CCTV video with a mystery man shortly before being reported missing.

Alisha Apostoloff-Boyarin was last seen on January 22, 2022 as she travelled in a gold Volkswagen Passat in the Glossop and Chapel-en-le-Frith areas of Derbyshire.

Her family reported her missing from Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside in Greater Manchester on January, 14 last year.

Police have classified her as vulnerable at the time she vanished as she was alcohol-dependent.

The last known CCTV of Apostoloff-Boyarin shows her in Asda holding a shopping basket on January 17, 2022.

Footage has been released by detectives who have issued another appeal from the public during Monday's BBC's Crimewatch Live programme.

Detective Inspector Andrew Naismith said the CCTV footage shows Apostoloff-Boyarin with a man wearing a surgical face mask and a hat.

Detective Chief Inspector Liam Boden said: "Greater Manchester Police are continuing the search for Alisha and the investigation into her disappearance.

"We can confirm that Alisha travelled as a passenger in a vehicle to the Bishop Auckland area, County Durham on Friday 14th January 2022.”

Other CCTV shows the 24-year-old sitting in the passenger seat of a car - the VW - at a petrol station.

"She was later seen travelling in the same vehicle on Saturday 22nd January 2022, leaving Glossop towards Chapel-en-le-frith in Derbyshire. Alisha has not been seen or heard from since,” the detective added.

Officers say the car was "very distinctive" as it was registered in 2003 and has since been recovered.

Detective Chief Inspector Boden said: “A year has passed now and still Alisha has not been seen by family, friends and loved ones and as the investigation continues it is believed that she may have come to serious harm.”

“We are also appealing to the rural communities of Derbyshire in particular around Glossop, Buxton and Chapel-en-le-frith to come forward if you have seen anything suspicious or vehicles trespassing on private land around these dates.”

Det Insp Smith said her family are "desperate for answers".

Following her disappearance, Apostoloff-Boyarin’s grandmother passed away “without answers”.

The missing persons' inquiry has been escalated to a murder inquiry as officers believe she has come to significant harm.

In March last year, a man aged 59 was arrested on suspicion of murder but was released under investigation.

A second man, aged 50 was arrested later in March on suspicion of assisting an offender but he also been released with no further action taken.
