The former Cabinet minister found himself "hijacked" by the teenage daughter of Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg

Annunziata Rees-Mogg has spoken out after her 16-year-old niece Mary gave Michael Gove an impromptu tarot card reading during GB News's Chopper's Political podcast.

The former Cabinet minister found himself "hijacked" by the teenage daughter of Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, who was equipped with her own set of tarot cards.

Andrew Pierce said: "She subjected Michael Gove to a tarot card reading and it said he's subject to impulsivity - ask Boris Johnson, who he knifed in the back - also, brain blockages - well, let's not go there - and to overindulgence.

"When did she get this gift for tarot cards?"

Annunziata Rees-Mogg said: "I don't know who gave them to her but Jacob's daughter was given tarot cards for her birthday back in November and was chatting to some of the people who work at GB.

"They're said bring them in, we want to know about this. She got there and Michael Gove was there and so she read his.

Andrew said: "I will just say about tarot cards, bearing in mind Jacob Rees-Mogg is a staunch Roman Catholic, The Pope says tarot cards they are an idolatry of our times."

Annunziata joked: "At least it wasn't a Ouija board. It could have been worse."

The cards also suggested Gove was prone to "confusion or mental blockages," with Mary Rees-Mogg advising him to "have a bit of confidence".

The young fortune-teller additionally cautioned the former minister to "beware of over-indulgence."

Despite the seemingly critical nature of the reading, Gove himself described the experience as "extremely helpful."

The impromptu session took place at GB News studios, where Mary had brought her cards after discussing her interest with staff members.

"I am very anti this kind of thing," said Gove, who is now editor of the Spectator magazine and a devout Christian.
