Social media personality Andrew Tate has hit out at his incarceration, telling his fans his prison cell is filled with cockroaches, lice and beg bugs.

Tate was detained on December 29 in Bucharest, while his brother Tristan and two Romanian women have also been arrested.

On January 10, a court upheld a judge’s ruling on December 30 to extend their arrest from 24 hours to 30 days. They have denied all allegations.

The authorities in Romania also seized several of the former kickboxer’s luxury cars from his Bucharest property.

In an email sent to his fans – his first since he was imprisoned – Tate said: "They are trying to break me. Thrown inside a cell without light. Cockroaches, lice, and bed bugs are my only friends at night.

"When the guards bring me to and from the courtroom, I stay absolutely respectful. They try to pour hatred into my heart.”

A former kickboxing world champion, he has amassed millions of followers across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok.

Despite being in prison, Tate’s presence online has remained active, posting his email address online so that he can receive messages from his followers. It’s not known whether the content posted on his account is from him or by someone on his behalf.
