A mother has been charged with the murder of her two-year-old daughter after the toddler was found unresponsive in a pond in September 2023.
Alice Mackey, 42, is accused of killing her daughter Annabel, who went missing from their home in Kingsley, Hampshire.
The toddler was reported missing on September 10, prompting an urgent police search. She was discovered shortly afterwards in a pond approximately half a mile from her £600,000 family home.
Annabel was rushed to hospital in a serious condition. She died the following day on September 11.

Mackey has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court tomorrow (March 5).
Hampshire Constabulary said it received a call at 5.02pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023 to a report that Annabel had gone missing from her home on Forge Road in Kingsley.
The alarm was raised in the village, which is near the town of Bordon. Police divers were seen searching the water the following day.
Detectives from the Major Crime Team carried out the investigation into Annabel's death and her movements before she was found at Kingsley Pond.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman confirmed that Alice Mackey, of Gibbs Lane in Oakhanger, has been charged with murder.
The charge comes more than 18 months after the tragic incident that shocked the quiet Hampshire village.
Annabel's father Peter paid tribute to his daughter, describing her as a "beautiful, positive and very happy little girl".
"She had an incredibly pure and caring nature that we miss so much," he said, "She loved story time, dogs and her dolly. She enjoyed singing songs and nursery rhymes and had a very sweet tooth."

He added: "Annabel loved to laugh, she brought so much happiness into our lives. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Thank you to everyone who was a positive influence in her life."
Peter urged people to continue his daughter's legacy "by remembering her and caring for others as much as she did".
"The world needs more people like Annabel to spread positivity and kindness," he said. "Annabel, I love you so much, you are a shining star and you will be loved forever x."
The investigation into Annabel's death has been ongoing since September 2023.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A woman arrested following the death of a two-year-old girl who was found at Kingsley Pond, East Hampshire in September 2023, has today (Tuesday, March 4) been charged with murder."
