An Aldi customer shoved a shopping bag in the face of a cashier before pushing them after the worker asked for their shopping bag to be place on the conveyer belt.
Police have released an image of a woman they would like to speak to following the assault at a store in Northampton.
Northamptonshire Police said a customer took offence after being asked to place their empty shopping bag on the checkout conveyer belt on September 9 at the Earl Street shop.
The Aldi customer then forcibly pushed the bag into the employee's face.

Officers have now shared an image of a woman they believe could have information in relation to the investigation.
A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: "Between 12.50pm and 1pm on Monday, September 9, a customer took offence at being asked to place their empty shopping bag on the checkout conveyer belt and forcibly pushed the bag into the face of the member of staff.
"Shortly after the incident, while the member of staff was speaking to their manager, the same customer has approached from behind and pushed them forcibly in the back before leaving the store.

"Officers believe the woman in the image may have information which could assist with their investigation and are appealing for her or anyone who may recognise her to get in touch.
"Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
"Please quote incident number 24000541701 when providing any information to make sure it gets to the right person as quickly as possible."
It comes after another Aldi worker was allegedly attacked while working at a store in Fife.
Police were called to the supermarket in Ridge Way, Dalgety Bay last month following reports of an employee being assaulted by a gang of youths.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We received a report of a group of youths having assaulted a male staff member at a supermarket in Ridge Way, Dalgety Bay, around 4.35pm on Saturday, 31 August, 2024.
"Officers are following positive lines of enquiry and would urge anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101, quoting incident number 2581 of Saturday, 31 August, 2024."
