Topshop has sent shoppers into a frenzy with cryptic social media teasers hinting at its imminent return to the retail scene.
The once-dominant high street brand has shared three videos on Instagram with the caption: "Watch this space".
Its website now simply displays: "Topshop coming soon."
The teaser comes five years after the fashion retailer disappeared from British high streets.
One excited shopper on social media commented: "Our favourite place may be coming back," while another asked: "What does this mean?"
The announcement follows Michelle Wilson's appointment as managing director of Topshop and Topman last month.

Asos has confirmed plans to relaunch Topshop.com as a standalone website within the next six months.
Last year, the company stated: "Within the next six months, we will re-launch Topshop.com, giving the brand an opportunity to further expand its customer base."
This marks a significant step in reviving the brand's independent identity after its acquisition from Sir Philip Green's Arcadia empire in 2021.
In September, Asos announced plans to sell its 75 per cent stake in Topshop to Danish retail group Bestseller for £118million.
While physical stores haven't been confirmed, Asos chief executive José Antonio Ramos Calamonte has not ruled out the possibility.
He said: "We might open stores. We will consider it for sure but we have no specific agreement to open a certain number."
Industry rumours suggest potential sites are already being scouted, including London's Carnaby Street.
The deal values Topshop at £180million, down from the £265million paid when Asos acquired the brand in 2021.
The social media announcement has sparked excitement among shoppers nostalgic for the brand.
"Topshop announcing they're returning to the high street is a joy only millennial girlies will understand. We've missed you x," wrote one person on X.
Another fan commented on Instagram: "I feel like my parents just got back together."
"Millennials everywhere are screaming, crying & throwing up I'm one of them," joked another.
IKEA to open flagship Oxford Street store at former Topshop site
PAOne shopper celebrated: "My wardrobe and my life just fell back into place. Might start going out again."
Topshop was known for its trendy clothes and sell-out designer collaborations.
Its 100,000 sq ft Oxford Street flagship store attracted everyone from tourists to fashion editors.
During the early 2000s, celebrities and fashion icons flocked to be part of the retail phenomenon.
Currently, apart from online, Topshop products are only sold in Nordstrom department stores.
The sale comes amid significant financial challenges for ASOS, which posted losses of £380million in the year to September.

Around 60 per cent of fashion shopping has returned to physical stores. Shares in Asos rose 20 per cent following the Bestseller deal announcement.
The company's net debt, which stood at £348million in April, is expected to fall by about £150million as a result of the transaction.
