Tesco has made a major to pricing in its stores that could allow shoppers to make big savings going forward.
The supermarket chain has begun to add unit pricing to its “Clubcard Price” labels which are included on products.
These labels are placed on items which are priced cheaper for members of Tesco’s loyalty card scheme.

This would allow consumers to have the opportunity to make even bigger savings on their shopping bill.
Customers will be able to spot the unit cost of an item where the price is shown but it will usually be on the small print.
Up until this point, Tesco has only included unit pricing on the original price label at Tesco but not on the Clubcard price.
Speaking to The Sun, the supermarket giant confirmed that the roll out of unit prices on Clubcard-labelled items is taking place at all 2,866 stores.
Information on the new Clubcard label pricing rollout will be available for shoppers on the Tesco website.
Consumer champions Which? praised the supermarket chain’s decision to give consumers more information on their purchases.
Rocio Concha, director of policy and advocacy at the watchdog, outlined why this will be beneficial to customers.
Mr Concha said: “Which? has campaigned through the cost of living crisis for supermarkets to make pricing clearer so shoppers can easily find the best value deals at a time when so many have struggled to put food on the table.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"The lack of unit pricing on Tesco’s Clubcard offers was a glaring omission and we warned that this approach could be breaking the law last summer, so it’s good to see the nation’s largest supermarket stepping up to do the right thing by making this important change.
"We look forward to seeing this rolled out quickly across all stores and online so shoppers can benefit as soon as possible.”
Recently, Tesco has issued a warning to its customers as millions of pounds worth of Clubcard vouchers are set to expire.
Households only have until February 29, 2024 to spend their vouchers and make big savings on their shop.
