The entrepreneur has shared his plans for the future

A man has shared how he has boosted his income by up to £1,000 a month from his car, and he has huge plans to expand.

James Williams, 30, makes thousands of pounds by renting out his car, with his side hustle being so successful, he’s been able to go full-time.

A car enthusiast, the entrepreneur used to buy, sell and repair cars as a hobby.

However, the time and financial constraints of having to list, sell and receive payment for a car before making a new purchase would slow the process.

In a bid to supplement his cash flow, a friend recommended the car-sharing platform Turo.

Mr Williams decided to list his car. Within 30 minutes, he received a booking, prompting him to want to invest more in the platform and his business.

His business has gone from strength to strength, and he turned his passion into a full-time endeavour last year.

Mr Williams currently manages a fleet of seven cars, and he can earn anywhere between £500 and £1,000 per car, per month.

The entrepreneur has big plans for the future, hoping to expand his London fleet to 10 to 15 cars, and is currently on the lookout for employees to help him with this.

Then, he intends to expand into new UK cities, specifically Manchester and Birmingham.

For Mr Williams, building on the relationships he’s built within the automotive space is incredibly valuable, with local mechanics having referred their customers to him as a trusted source for hiring cars.

The businessman tends to look out for trends on the platform, helping him to understand what customers’ needs and wants are, so he can try to fulfil them with his fleet.

Over the past few months, for instance, a lot of families and couples have been acquiring larger vehicles for family holidays, prompting Mr Williams to invest in these kinds of cars, increasing his booking mass.

Mr Williams wanted to provide his customers with premium comfort, as well as higher-end cars for drivers valuing style and individuality.

The entrepreneur was always interested in going into car rental and suggested those considering it get started.

Mr Williams said Turo streamlined the process for him and “completely took away the headache”.
