From Wednesday January 24 until Tuesday January 30, customers can find these discounts across many popular brands.

This latest commitment to concessions comes as consumers continue to deal with high inflation with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate last month increasing to four per cent.

The supermarket chain pledged to slash prices of the products customers buy the most and invest in “market-leading” consumer deals with Nectar Prices.

Since rolling out its Save to Invest strategy, Sainsbury’s reports it has spent £780million which has saved £1.3billion across the business over three years.

Earlier this month, the retail giant raised its Aldi Price Match campaign to cover a total of 550 products.

Furthermore, Nectar Prices is now available on more than 6,000 products as part of Sainsbury’s latest wave of deals.

According to Sainsbury’s, Nectar Prices helped shoppers save an average of £16 on a shopping trip worth £80 during the Christmas period.

Simon Roberts, the company’s chief executive, said: “We’ve been working hard to reduce costs across our business so that we can give more value back to our customers and help to bring down inflation.

“Our investment of £220 million this financial year, and £780 million over three years into lowering our prices means that customers can be confident whatever they are shopping for, they will find great value on the products they love at Sainsbury’s.”
