The issue is currently under investigation whilst NS&I find a fix

NS&I has confirmed they are working to “fix” a problem with their website after customers have flocked to social media reporting they could not access their account.

Customers affected as being asked to contact NS&I’s customer service team by calling 08085 007 007.

On X, one person wrote: “Any idea when your website's going to be working? First difficulties logging in and now error message trying to download document so unable to see my annual statement.”

NS&I told a customer this morning: “Good morning. We have been made aware the website issues have not yet been resolved.

“The issue has been passed on to the relevant team and is currently under investigation while we find a fix. If you require support with your account, please call us on 08085 007 007…”

A customer complained the NS&I website has been “broken all day”.

They urged the savings company to “fix the root of the problem”.

The user wrote: “ Your website has been broken all day. I can’t access my documents.

“How many times must this happen before someone at NS&I fixes the root problem…”

The @nsandihelp team on X are responding to customer tweets to help them solve their problems.

They suggested “advisors can assist you [those affected] over the phone.”

An NS&I spokesperson said: “We are aware of an issue that has been affecting some NS&I customers attempting to log-in to their online accounts and on the app, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

“We believe that this issue was caused by an increase in website traffic and we are working to resolve it.

“Our website is often busier at the start of the month when Premium Bonds customers log-in to check if they have won any prizes.

“Any customers experiencing difficulties depositing funds into their account can contact us on 08085 007 007.”

The problem comes a week after the Premium Bonds prize draw results for April 2024 were published.

Premium Bonds are NS&I's most famous product, with more than 21 million people holding them.

Each month, two savers have the chance to win a life-changing £1million in the Premium Bonds prize draw.

The odds of winning a prize are 21,000 to one for every one pound Bond in the monthly prize draw.

All prizes are tax free, and people can invest any amount between £25 and £50,000.

Britons can cash in all or part of their Bonds at any time by registering online or calling them.
