She put down a random selection of National Lottery numbers on a ticket worth a measly £2.

The lucky winner revealed she would look to use the windfall to treat her family.

She suggested either splashing the cash on a luxury summer holiday or a new car.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Huge congratulations to this woman for winning this fantastic prize.

"She has become a millionaire overnight and can look forward to making a million new memories with her windfall.”

The Aberdeenshire woman won the prize via lucky dip rather than the National Lottery website.

However, she luckily managed to match the five main numbers and the bonus ball.

She joins more than eight million players who have won each week on the National Lottery’s range of games.

Punters can play Lotto, Euromillions, Set for Life, Instant Win Games, Lotto Hotpicks and Euromillions Hotpicks.

Thunderball and Scratchcards are other games listed on the National Lottery website.

However, due to the sheer number of punters, more than £30million is generated each week for National Lottery-funded projects.

The funds help support local charities and even national athletes competing at the Commonwealth Games.

A staggering £47billion has been raised for National Lottery Good Causes.

More than 670,000 individual grants have also been awarded.
