M&S customers will need to have signed up for the Marks and Spencer Sparks card to be in with a chance of getting free shopping

Thousands of M&S customers will get their shopping for free this weekend as the retailer launches a supersized version of M&S’ popular Sparks benefit.

The retailer is holding ‘Sparks Super Saturday’, giving 5,000 customers in the UK and ROI their shopping for free.

To be in with a chance of winning, shoppers need to scan their Sparks card when shopping in an M&S store or log into their Sparks account when shopping online.

In-store customers will find out straight away and online shoppers will be notified via email.

Kirsty Ward, Director of M&S Connect, said: “Since relaunching Sparks as a Digital First loyalty scheme, we’ve doubled the number of Sparks members – rewarding them with personalised offers, special treats and thank yous.

“And one of Sparks’ members' most loved rewards is the opportunity to get their shopping for free so, for one day only, we’re supersizing it and giving 5,000 lucky customers the opportunity to get their shopping for free – simply by shopping and scanning their Sparks card in-store or online!”

The high street retailer is encouraging customers who aren’t already Sparks members to sign-up ahead of the supersized opportunity.

Those interested can join through M&S.com or the M&S app.

M&S relaunched the customer reward scheme Sparks in 2020, and it has grown to 17 million members.

The retailer says Sparks customers will get personalised offers based on "things you love".

Members need to add them and they will then be applied at the checkout.

Marks and Spencer has expanded its Shwopping partnership with Oxfam for the Back-to-School season, with dedicated school uniform Shwop boxes in more than 200 UK stores.

The retailer, Oxfam, and eBay will pilot the sale of school uniforms through a pre-loved eBay school uniform shop. They are calling on customers to donate hand-me-down quality school uniforms via M&S Shwop boxes.

Sparks customers who donate their pre-loved school uniform into one of the Shwop boxes can get 20 per cent off selected kids' clothing at M&S.

Lucy Peacock, Head of Pre-Loved Fashion at eBay UK, commented: “Every parent should be able to have access to a school uniform for their child at any age which is good quality and fit for purpose. The cost-of-living crisis has created greater education poverty and an ever-increasing need for school uniforms.

"Together with M&S and Oxfam, we are proud to be able to pilot an e-commerce solution to help parents get access to pre-loved school uniforms across all corners of the UK.”
