The next energy price cap review is set to take place in August and will be effective from October 1, 2024

Britons could face a 10 per cent energy bill rise from October 1 as the energy price cap increases, but they can fix at current prices or less right now.

Although the energy price crisis has slightly improved, 80 per cent of households could be left with soaring energy bill prices over the winter.

On July 1, the energy price cap fell to £1,568 a year for a typical use household paying by Direct Debit.

However, the energy price cap is predicted to rise substantially by 10 per cent, on October 1.

Analysts say it will stay around this level until January when the next quarterly change takes place.

But Britons could avoid any shock changes in their energy prices this winter by finding a cheaper fix now.

With the current deals on the market, Britons could fix what they pay for a year at one per cent lower than the current Price Cap, and far lower than the predicted Cap from October.

It should be noted that the cheapest deals will depend on where someone lives, how they pay, and how much they use.
