The People's Channel is today taking further action to press the Government to protect the status of cash as legal tender and as a widely accepted means of payment in the UK until at least 2050.
This afternoon Nigel Farage will be joined by his fellow GB News stars Bev Turner, Michelle Dewberry, Patrick Christys, and Economics and Business Editor Liam Halligan, to deliver a letter to Chancellor Jeremy Hunt on behalf of over 270,000 viewers and listeners who have joined our Don’t Kill Cash campaign.
Our petition has been rapidly gaining momentum as GB News continues fighting to protect vulnerable Britons who rely on cash and are being left behind.

A letter calling for laws to protect the status of cash as legal tender and as a widely accepted means of payment in the UK until at least 2050 will be delivered to the door of Number 11 Downing Street.
Liam Halligan, GB News’ Economic and Business Editor said: "A little more than a month ago GB News launched our don't kill cash campaign. Why did we do that? We know that over a million households in this country don't have a bank account.
"They don't have debit cards. We know that five million Brits rely on cash each day to fulfil basic needs. We know that increasing numbers of shops don't want to take cash, they don't want the cash handling cards.
"We know that's lots of the tech giants want to monitor everything we do via our debit cards and then they can sell that information.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
"This is a campaign that lots of the establishment don't want us to be highlighting and that's one reason we are highlighting it because we know there is a real need to keep the minds of politicians and regulators focused on the need to keep cash as legal tender.
The giant piggy bank will remain against the backdrop of Parliament all day to bring attention to the message.
It comes after Britons contacted the channel to pass on their concerns about the speed of moving towards a cashless society would have a damaging effect on millions of people.
More than five million adults still rely on cash in the UK and it’s used in six billion transactions every year, but there are strong vested interests pushing for it to be permanently replaced by debit and credit cards and other electronic payments.
With the rise of Apple and Google Pay, vulnerable people, particularly the elderly, who rely on cash, are increasingly being left behind by the relentless march of technology.
GB News has given voice to individuals, businesses and charities throughout the campaign, airing their concerns about the need to keep the right to use the pounds and pennies in our pockets for decades to come.
It’s been backed by MPs from across the spectrum and even union boss Mick Lynch.
The number of people signing the petition currently stands at more than 280,000.
