The move comes as the convenience retailer invests £6.4 million into giving members “market-leading” savings of up to 44 per cent
The Co-op has announced today that it is cutting prices for its member-owners across 54 fruit and vegetable lines.
Co-op members can now save money on fresh produce lines following the retailers £6.4million investment.
Co-op members can now make savings of up to 44 per cent as the food retailer focuses its investment on the fruit and veg prices.
Savings include 44 per cent off baby potatoes with seasoned butter, 33 per cent of little gem lettuce, ‘Irresistible’ cherry tomatoes and plums, 20 per cent off Jersey Royal potatoes and 18 per cent off Pink Lady apples, the Co-op said.
The price cuts will be available to Co-Op's 'members'. Members get exclusive access to store savings and discounts like Tesco Clubcard members and Sainsbury's Nectar customers.
Member prices are lower for people signed up for the Co-op loyalty scheme.

”Our price investment is focused on great quality home-grown seasonal produce and further underpins Co-op’s commitment to backing British farmers and growers, while helping our members to make healthy choices, conveniently.”

As well as these savings, the retailer will once again roll out its ‘Fresh 3’ promotion.
This will offer members further savings on fresh fruit and vegetables, from June 19.
The Co-op aims to make Fresh 3 a cornerstone of its member promotional offer, it said, increasing value for Co-op members as the retailer targets membership growth to eight million by 2030.
Co-op is not the only supermarket to offer customer discounts on their loyalty scheme.
Tesco Clubcard shoppers can also make big savings thanks to the loyalty scheme.
Clubcard points can also be used to pay for fuel costs or securing a new deal with Tesco Mobile.
