Keir Starmer has appointed the anti-brexit Lord Mandelson as US ambassador.

He was useless as Trade Minister. I stood next to him when he spoke to welcome the new RSA ambassador a couple of decades ago. He was very, very nervous and gave a useless speech. We need someone better. Nigel FARAGE is the obvious. - Barry Harding
Mandelson is a disciple of the EU. I wouldn't trust him with dealing with Trump. The two are incompatible and Mandelson will be surely throwing as many spanners in the works with any US/UK deals to help ensure the EU maintain their grip on us once more. - PW
Mandelson's appointment is not about Britain, it’s about Starmer. Labour think Mandy flattery of Trump will fix the special relationship with Labour, Starmer isn’t a patriot or interested in Britain. Trump and Farage is the special relationship with 🇬🇧 . - Andy M
Funny how Labour say they "want the councils to show good value for money " when it comes to the funds for potholes. What about good value for money when it comes to illegals and hotels and all billions on the Quango of Great British Energy blah blah. They are all fools/oeufs and parasitic marxists. - Wendy Pye-Smith
Perhaps Donald Trump will refuse to accept Mandelson, I believe he can apparently. Wouldn’t that be just wonderful?! Karma. - Susan Timms
Mandelson to the United States. Saints preserve us, Britains humiliation continues. So when does the puppet master Blair appear on stage? - Polly Whelan
The government have pledged £1.5 billion for investment in local roads.

Pot holes are caused mainly by rain and heavy goods lorries also poor road building, I can't believe how many new roads have pot holes and they are usually massive. Doing things on the cheap. You never see a bad Victorian or Roman road. - Brian Dunkley
I thought the money from the DVLA is used to fix the roads. So the increase in Vehicle Tax will pay for the pot holes, it’s our money! Labour aren’t doing us a favour car tax has increased to pay for them. - Molly Sugden
It is pointless taking the top surface off the roads and putting it back. The issue is the sub base. And the materials used are inferior to that used years ago, the stones are too small apparently to make the roads " quieter". Make do and mend costs far more in long term. False economics- But this is UK. - David Bird
