It has been revealed that Australia is to introduce an age minimum for social media in 2024 with the government saying that the minimum age will be around 14-16.
This has sparked a furious backlash from digital advocates who say the ban will drive traffic to unregulated alternatives.
The Australian Prime Minister told the Australian Broadcasting Corp: "I want to see kids off their devices and onto the footy fields and the swimming pools and the tennis courts."
