GB News presenter Neil Oliver shares his thoughts on Rishi Sunak's election pledge on National Service, as he delivers his verdict to GB News members.
Speaking to our members, Neil said: "One of the topics that I'll be contemplating in my next show is the suggestion of a return of national service. Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister, seems very excited by the prospect. I myself am not.
"I would be taking the line that a concept like National Service could be positive, where we have a copper bottomed, uncorrupted, well-intentioned, benign establishment. In which case you could make the argument that it would be positive for youngsters to volunteer and give service.

"I don't think we have that kind of reassurance, and I'll be asking various spokespeople to give of their opinions as to whether or not our teenagers should be volunteering for national service in the United Kingdom of Great Britain."
