In an exclusive VIP member-only Q&A, Charlie Peters opens up on how he deals with carrying the weight of such important and harrowing stories.
GB News VIP member Alan began by saying "First of all, thank you for everything that you've done so far. You've really led the way as a journalist covering the grooming gang scandal."
He then went on to ask Charlie "I wondered how it's been for you. You've you've obviously uncovered some really shocking stuff, and I wondered how you yourself have coped with this mentally."
Charlie responded by saying "Thank you for your question. It's a very personal question. But you know what? I very rarely get it asked. I'm grateful for it because it is difficult. It is difficult work. There's no doubt about it."
Charlie thanked Alan for asking the personal question of how he deals with difficult stories.

GBN's National Reporter Charlie revealed how he copes with the difficult stories he covers and said "You encounter the most horrendous misery every day. But I think the ability to cope with it and process it is helped by the fact that the people you meet who have endured those tragedies are doing well. They're persevering. And so you take strength from their experience and the way that they've pushed through it."
Charlie also went on to discuss his reporting on the national grooming gang scandal which has rocked the nation and said "I do actually have quite a lot of hope about this story and the reaction it's getting now and the amount of focus that we're getting from politicians. And finally, it feels like people are waking up to just how widespread an issue this is."
Alan thanked Charlie for his fearless coverage of the story "I think the victims will certainly be very thankful for having you on the case and keep up the good work." Charlie responded "Thank you, Alan, I really appreciate it. Thank you."
