How British is your favourite supermarket? Where your food comes from at Tesco, Aldi, M&S and more
PA
Supermarkets in the UK pride themselves on being big on British, but how much of what they have to offer is sourced in the UK? GB News takes a look
UK supermarkets often share stories and anecdotes online and in adverts highlighting their work with British farmers and suppliers.
But some supermarkets have more of your favourite foods sourced from the UK than others.
GB News exclusively looks at where your food comes from.
Aldi
Aldi is one of the supermarkets with the most British produce.
All meat, eggs and milk stocked in Aldi is 100 per cent British.
Aldi describes itself as "championing Great British quality" and works with 5,000 British suppliers in the country, including family-run businesses.
It has confirmed two thirds of sales are from British suppliers and shoppers can tell exactly what was farmed in the UK by looking for the British flag logo on food packaging.
Waitrose
Waitrose is another supermarket championing Britons and 100 per cent of its fresh meat, milk and eggs are sourced from the UK.
On top of this, 80 per cent of vegetables come from British growers.
It stocks more than 2,500 local products from 600 local suppliers, with many products coming from within a 30-mile radius of a branch.

Marks & Spencer
The biggest British product in M&S is its beef. All beef can be traced back to the UK farm and animal that it has come from.
Marks & Spencer Foodhalls work closely with suppliers and farmers across the UK with a selection of high quality foods coming from Britain.
This includes some products from fish and honey, to dairy and baked goods.
Tesco
Tesco milk comes from the UK, as part of the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group, which works with British farmers for fresh milk in return for guaranteed prices and long term contracts.
Unlike many supermarket chains, not all of Tesco’s meat comes from the UK.
Tesco meat is sourced from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Morrisons
All fresh meat in Morrisons is British, from pork, chicken and beef to lamb and turkey.
Morrisons works with 2,700 British farmers to stock the best of the UK.
Shoppers can find all the local produce by looking for the British flag logo on Morrisons' packaging and under the 'British' section on the website.
There are currently around 100 items in this category, including dairy, fresh fruits and vegetables.
Sainsbury's
All Sainsbury's branded meat is British, and the supermarket chain says it works closely with its farmers.
It has a commitment to sourcing British foods, but the amount of UK produce in stores changes depending on the seasons.
Items are labelled with the country of origin so shoppers can clearly see what is from the UK.
Asda
All Asda Extra Special range is made from British meat, but shoppers are not guaranteed British produce in many other sections.
Like Tesco, Asda's meat is sourced from the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
Asda's produce sourced from the UK can be identified with the British flag logo.
Lidl
All chicken and beef sold in Lidl UK stores comes from local providers.
Shoppers can also find British milk, butter, eggs and cream in stores.
