X has filed an antitrust lawsuit alleging a conspiracy among major advertisers to withhold advertising from the social media platform

GB News will "closely monitor" the action media companies X and Rumble are taking against the advertising industry.

Earlier this week, X filed a lawsuit against a group of major advertisers for allegedly conspiring to withhold advertising from the social media platform.

The suit, filed in a federal court in Texas, claims dozens of advertisers followed the recommendation of a key advertising coalition, Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), to boycott buying ads on X since Musk bought the company.

It claims this cost the company billions of dollars in revenue. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for violation of US antitrust law.

The video site Rumble, founded more than ten years ago as an alternative to YouTube and positioned as a platform “immune to cancel culture", has also filed a similar lawsuit.

In a statement GB News said: "GB News notes the anti-trust action commenced by media companies X and Rumble against the advertising industry. We will be closely monitoring its progress."
