David Campbell Bannerman argues that 'Conservatives voters are on strike'
The Chairman of the Conservative Democratic Organisation has called for Conservative MPs to make a leadership change and remove Rishi Sunak as Tory leader.
It comes as new polling shows Sunak's popularity is now be worse than that of Liz Truss when she was Prime Minister.
With speculation as to Nigel Farage's next moves and Reform UK hitting 11 per cent in the latest BMG Research poll, Sunak's leadership is being increasingly criticised.
A JL Partners report yesterday also showed that only 59 per cent of those who voted Conservative in 2019 are planning to do so again, compared to 63 per cent under Liz Truss.
Speaking to GB News, the Chairman of the Conservative Democratic Organisation David Campbell Bannerman said: "The hard reality, which is true amongst CDO members, is that we are losing good Conservatives to ‘not voting at all’ and to Reform.
"Conservatives voters are on strike.
"The answer to this is not to bring back Cameron nor to get closer to the EU.
"Every measure Sunak has introduced has backfired. Conservative MPs need to see the reality and urgently remove him in a vote of no confidence.
"He is a political Dud and a disaster for the Conservative Party."
