Reform UK is SURGING and the Tories only have themselves to blame, says Howard Cox

Thatcher and Churchill are turning in their graves, says Reform's candidate for London Mayor
For 50 years at the ballot box, I have voted Conservative. I’m mostly known for establishing the widely respected FairFuelUK.com Campaign, effectively helping to stop planned increases in vehicle fuel taxation.
Even the Guardian’s Political Editor last September grudgingly reported, “as the head of FairFuelUK, he (Howard Cox) has a case for being the most successful political lobbyist in the country’s history, leading the charge for a decade-plus freeze on fuel duty.”
Since 2011, I have worked very closely with dozens of Tory MPs to stop the Treasury and a succession of anti-driver Chancellors perennial threats to hike fuel taxes. The looming March 2nd Budget continues the convention of scaring motorists, with Jeremy Hunt implying that a hike in this regressive levy is still possible. Many of these bank-benchers, some now ministers, I count on as good friends.
So, for me to join Reform UK and accept this nascent party’s request to stand as their 2024 London Mayoral Candidate, was not the easiest of decisions to make. But I have no regrets in saying yes to Richard Tice and I am more than delighted to be part of a genuine new drive to stop the two-party political monopoly continue to wreck the economy, our society and all our futures.
Millions of traditional Tory voters, like me, feel massively let down by this Government dumping all the Conservative core values, even after securing a Parliamentary 80 seat majority.
Would Margaret Thatcher or Winston Churchill have presided over the highest taxes in over 70 years, the mass illegal uncontrolled influx of economic migrants, an exponential growth in hospital waiting lists, reliance on energy supply from overseas, uncontrolled expansion in Government debt, a bloated civil service, being soft on crime and idealistic ill-informed protestors, a myopic drive to a costly net zero pipedream and of course shutting down UK Plc during the covid pandemic?
Absolutely not! Both Maggie and Churchill will be turning in their graves. The careerist politicians in Westminster currently cowering away from announcing a General Election date have lost the loyalty of many traditional Thatcherites. The Iron Lady’s values of low tax, small state and a nation’s right to sovereignty, have been abandoned for woke idealism and an undemocratic talk-down dominance.
The Conservative Party doesn’t even have an escape root to recover. They will be smashed to smithereens in the 2024 election. Even their habitual millionaire donors are deserting them and are declaring enough is enough!
Rishi Sunak is incapable of delivering real change, unlike Nigel Farage
PA/GB NEWSAfter 13 years of Tory ineptness and self-induced failure to govern, Reform UK represents the political direction that deep down the majority of right-minded UK voters’, especially true Conservatives, hunger for. When I talk to backbench disaffected Tories, media sceptics or those in a growing political homeless wasteland about the grass root issues impacting on all our lives, and how Reform’s common-sense solutions will solve them, suddenly the colour of the rosette becomes meaningless.
At the heart of Reform’s political DNA is the drive for economic growth. That means putting significantly more money into all our pockets. Raising the threshold of when low-income taxpayers contribute to the Exchequer from £12,571 to £20,000, cutting 20p per litre on Fuel Duty and lowering VAT from 20% to 18% will transform consumer spending, business investment and deliver a secure long-term thriving stable economy.
All levels of business will benefit, and as a consequence a huge new influx of growth taxes will fund public services. Reducing the size of current mega-state will also add to fiscal growth. There is not one true time-honoured Conservative that would object to these common-sense policies.
Reform UK is steered by a successful team of people who are not the traditional career driven self-interested profiles so rife in the two principal Political Parties. Under its energetic assiduous leader Richard Tice, Reform UK has incredibly high calibre experienced individuals who honestly care and are committed to restoring the UK’s economic, political, and social prosperity.
In Ben Habib, Ann Widdecombe, Rupert Lowe, Dr David Bull, Nigel Farage and other highly gifted party figures, the UK is guaranteed Reform UK will deliver positive and seismic change. Something totally beyond the current leaders of the Labour and Conservative Parties.
The archetypal sniping by terrified Tory MPs that voting Reform nationally is a vote for ‘Starmergeddon’ or voting for me in the London Mayoral election will keep the most divisive and dishonest Sadiq Khan in office, are insults to democracy and your desire for real change. As one Daily Mail columnist wrote this week “Where is it written that the Conservative Party has a divine right to rule? Or that Tory MPs are entitled to hold on to their seats, simply because the Labour alternative is too horrible to contemplate?”
My message is clear, don’t be scared or worry about tactical voting. Please vote on the issues themselves and seek that genuine political revolution.
Give Reform UK the opportunity to deliver a better future for us all. Sticking with Tweedledee and Tweedledum will condemn the UK to continuing economic and social decline.
There is absolutely no risk in voting Reform UK, only a positive future for your friends, family, business, and the nation.
