Some households could be in line for a £25 one-off payment to help with energy costs as the UK experiences its first major cold snap of the season.
Temperatures have plummeted in recent days, with conditions only expected to worsen as Storm Bert is set to smash into Britain this weekend.
Each year, between November and March, the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) runs the Cold Weather Payment scheme to help people on certain benefits with heating costs.
Every time the temperature drops below 0C for seven consecutive days, people in affected postcode areas will receive a one-off £25 payment in their bank account.
To be eligible for the payments, you need to be claiming a qualifying benefit such as Pension Credit, Income Support or Universal Credit.
According to the DWP, a total of 18 postcode areas are due payments for the period November 17 to November 24.
However, with the loss of the winter fuel payments for many pensioners, GB News is asking its members whether they think that the requirements for the cold weather payment change, so that all pensioners receive the £25.
