This Easter, chocolate eggs have soared in price yet again.
Across the last year, the price of a Twix white chocolate Easter egg at Tesco had risen from £5 to £6 - while shrinking from 316 grams to 258 grams, equivalent to a 47 per cent increase in its unit price.
Meanwhile at Lidl, Terry's Chocolate Orange mini eggs have crossed the pound mark to £1.35, from 99p last year - all for a pouch which is 10g smaller at 70g, meaning their unit price has soared by 56 per cent.
Unit prices for the same mini eggs have shot up up 51 per cent at Asda, 37 per cent at Sainsbury's and 14 per cent at Tesco, damning research from Which? found.
On the highest end of the scale, some Easter eggs now cost nearly £100 - and social media star Billy D'Souza, 32, from Southampton, has gone viral online for exposing eye-watering chocolate prices.
"I am surprised [by the cost of Easter eggs], but equally, the way things are going it keeps going up every year," he warned.
He said he reviewed a 4kg egg last year which cost £100 at the time, but said this year it cost him £225 "because of all the increases in ingredients".
The jumping costs come as inflation is poised to surge once again after a slight drop to 2.6 per cent in the 12 months to March.
Household bills, Donald Trump's tariffs and more are expected to hammer Britons' wallets in the months to come.
And now, GB News is asking: Has the cost of living crisis made Easter eggs unaffordable altogether?
