Some of the best comments from GBN Members in our inbox and across our site as Keir Starmer and the Labour government come under increasing pressure over the grooming gangs scandal.
Yesterday, Keir Starmer described those calling for an inquiry into the scandal as "jumping on a bandwagon of the far right" whilst Nigel Farage pushed back saying "if they won't do it, we at Reform will do it."
We also take a look at comments surrounding Labour's plans to send obese patients to the back of the NHS queue for surgery and those waiting for an operation will only be given a date when they are deemed 'fit to proceed'.
Nigel Farage has said Reform UK will conduct it's own inquiry if the government fail to do so.

How can we have a robust conversation about the murder, rape and child abuse gangs when anybody who says anything against them Starmer immediately labels far-right. - Richard Hill
Regarding Starmers world if we are all far right, what would you call the Labour Party? They are not Left wing - no Leftie party would do what they've done to farmers, pensioners, small business. They are more interested in anywhere foreign than the UK. The only names I can come up with are The Self Serving Party, Davos Party, Wrong Party. Sooner gone the better. - Brian Dunkley
Labour are about to seal their fate. Disgusting decision to not have an inquiry into grooming gangs. The report they have is not covering this ongoing vile practice. Shame on Starmer. - Age of Reform
Labour are going to whip their MP's to vote against a proper grooming gang enquiry, I wonder why? What we need is a step by step guide on how to have your MP deselected if they do NOT vote the way their constituents wish on ALL important matters. - Brian Kendal
If Musk wants to put his money where his mouth is, let him co-fund Reform's inquiry into the rape gangs. - James Brooks
Additional rape gang task force’s should be set up immediately in the 50 towns most affected. To send a clear message you will be stopped. But I doubt this government will want to do that. - Molly Sugden
Grooming gangs, so much for forcing diversity on us, it’s not working out well is it, there has to be a full public national enquiry, it’s the only way these victims get justice. - Grumpy Grandad
Why hasn’t Starmer already gone? Why hasn’t this seemingly complicit Labour government already gone? - Andy
Keir Starmer has said the NHS will be reformed from 'top to bottom'.

No point in having hip/ knee op if weight is not lost...they will end up having to have this procedure again in a short period of time! Being overweight causes joint problems! So other methods of support needs to be put in place before surgery. I don't agree with the narrative about going to the back of the queue unless they refuse to participate in losing weight. They have to take some responsibility. - Margaret Phillips
So, someone that is immobile and needs a knee replacement and is obese is told to go out and exercise to reduce weight before they can get the surgery that will enable them to go out and exercise. - Ian W
How do those fit people and their families feel when they die in a queue while obese people and smokers are treated for self inflicted illnesses ahead of them. - Gary Duncan
Obesity is because you eat too much, simple. During the 40s and 50s there was no junk food and no obesity. - David Atkins
Nana is correct - I put on weight because I ate too much or the wrong things - biscuits, chocolate, sugary cr*p, all of which the government should put the tax up on - it's MUCH too cheap and easy for parents to stick a sugary treat in front of their kids to shut them up, rather than peeling a few veg and making Ratatouille! So, unfortunately I'm one of those overweight people told to lose weight before getting new knees (too much playing Squash in my youth!), but I do understand that my chance of surviving the NHS will be impacted by my losing some of the fat I put on after the menopause - so that's what I'll do. The NHS is not an angelic semi-religious entity, it's a failing deeply flawed public service that needs a defibrillator to start running properly and delivering the service the British people deserve, considering the ungodly amounts of money we pump into it weekly! So doing everything we can to survive the hospital trip seems like a good idea to me...just sayin'. - Lesley Brine
