The respected historian criticised Starmer's response to the recent anti-immigration protests in an exclusive clip for GB News members

Labour has lost the white working class ‘forever’ following Keir Starmer’s response to the country-wide protests, leading historian David Starkey has told GB News.

In an exclusive interview, Mr Starkey discussed the consequences of the anti-immigration protests for Labour, saying: “What we're seeing now is a movement in political tectonic plates, on a scale that has not taken place since the end of the First World War, and the replacement of the Liberal Party by the Labour Party.”

“What we've seen over the last few days is the end of the Labour Party's relationship with the white working class. It's finished. It's over. It's done.”

“That entire Red Wall, I will predict there will not be a single Labour seat left in it in the future general election.”

He continued: “The question is, where does that vote go?”

The famous historian, a former BBC television presenter, said that ordinarily the Conservative Party would benefit from the collapse in support for Labour, but questioned whether it was capable of doing so now.

He described the modern Labour Party as being representative of the managerial class in London, rather than the working classes.

Discussing the recent anti-immigration protests and riots in recent days, Mr Starkey said there had been two-tier policing, compared to recent protests involving ethnic minorities.

“The police handle them with kid gloves, as we saw in Rochdale, as we saw in Leeds,” he said.

“Not only do they handle them with kid gloves, they actually negotiate with them catastrophically as groups with community leaders.”

Mr Starkey described such community leaders as “unelected” and “self-generated”, and said there is “only one group” who are not allowed to have community leaders.

“And it's the white working class. And this is why they are rebelling.”

“They are not allowed to have a community.

“They're not allowed to have their community leaders consulted. Again, you see, there are huge questions behind this.”

Riots and protests have erupted across Britain following a knife attack resulting in the murder of three children in Southport.

Axel Rudakubana, born in Cardiff to Rwandan parents, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer promised rioters that they will face “the full force of the law” and blamed the "far-right" for violence.

However, some have criticised Sir Keir for his response to the unrest, including Reform Party leader Nigel Farage.

Mr Farage said in a video posted on social media: “The Prime Minister has misread this completely and utterly, just to call out the actions of the 'far-right' is to misunderstand two things.”

The Reform leader pointed out that Muslims have also been rioting and causing damage to vehicles.

Mr Farage said Sir Keir does not understand the “general feeling of dissatisfaction” among the British public due to mass immigration.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, formerly Twitter, wrote on his website that “civil war is inevitable” in the UK following the riots.

David Starkey disagreed with the X owner, saying that instead “we are going to see..sustained inter-ethnic conflict”.

He added: "I don't think it's full scale civil war, but I think we are going to see increasing clashes between ethnic groups, Hindu and Pakistani, Hindu, Muslim, and I'm afraid between whites and everybody else."
