Popular crisps have been recalled over fears they could cause an allergic reaction "due to the possible presence of milk".

Consumers are being warned not to eat Just Crisps' sea salt and apple balsamic vinegar potato crisps if they have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.


The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the alert this week after considering the product unsafe for human consumption.

Customers who have a milk allergy and have consumed the affected batches may suffer from symptoms including a rash, itching, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhoea.

In some severe cases, it can cause anaphylaxis - a severe, life-threatening reaction.

The batch of Sea salt and apple balsamic vinegar potato crisps with a use by date of 08/04/2024 have been affected.

In a statement to customers published last week, the manufacturer said: "Just Crisps are recalling Just Crisps due to milk not being declared as an ingredient.

"This means the product is a possible health risks to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Anyone who has purchased the product can return them to store or contact hello@justcrisps.co.uk for a full refund.

It comes after Aldi shared an emergency food recall for meat amid health fears.

An Aldi statement said: "Please note that the following Emergency Withdrawal and Public Product Recall has taken place as the product may contain milk and this is not stated on the packaging.

"We have removed these products from sale in our stores and are recalling all affected products. Customer services can be contacted on 0800 042 0800."
