A specific type of cream will act as a "shield", an expert told GB News

When it comes to skin care, many people are guilty of neglecting their necks. Consequently, this part of the body often ages faster than the face and gives a woman's age away.

GB News spoke exclusively to a dermatologist about how women can achieve a "younger-looking" neck at home. According to the expert, daily sunscreen application is a non-negotiable.

Dr Hamdan Abdullah Hamed, dermatologist and co-founder of Power Your Curls, offered his top tips for women who want to anti-age this telling area.

He said: "We often pay attention to the face when doing skin care, but the neck also needs care. If you wish for your neck to stay young-looking without surgery, I have some simple tips for you."

The dermatologist stressed the importance of SPF, stating: "Sun damage is a main cause of our skin ageing.

"Use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 on your neck every day, even if it’s not sunny outside.

"This will help protect your skin from those bad UV rays that make wrinkles and dark spots. It's like wearing a shield.

"Sunscreen isn’t just a sunny day essential; it's your neck's secret weapon against the wrinkles that sneak up when you least expect it!

The dermatologist also advocated for regular moisturising, telling women to "moisturise, moisturise, moisturise".

Dr Hamed said: "One simple thing you can do is keep your neck hydrated. Every day, use a good moisturiser.

"Look for things like hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which help keep your skin full and soft. It is similar to giving your skin a big glass of water."

Women should also not skip the neck cream if they want to look younger. The dermatologist stated: "There are creams made especially for the neck.

These creams often have ingredients like retinol - which helps the skin make more collagen - and this keeps your skin tight. Using these products regularly can make a noticeable difference."

Incorporating antioxidants into your skin care regime can also work wonders, according to the expert. Indeed, he described them as "heroes for your skin".
