Tesco has announced it will continue covering VAT costs on its Soleil suncare range for Summer 2025, maintaining a cost-saving initiative that began in 2021.
The supermarket giant's commitment to absorbing the VAT charge helps customers reduce the cost of staying safe in the sun, whether at home or abroad. It has also updated the product to make it "more inclusive".
The VAT policy has already helped shoppers save more than £2million since its introduction four years ago.
The retailer has also announced a significant update to its Soleil range, with reformulated products offering an invisible finish suitable for all skin tones.

The improved formula ensures the suncare products blend seamlessly into the skin without leaving a white residue, while maintaining broad spectrum 5-star UVA and UVB protection.
Additional reformulated products are launching this week as part of Tesco's commitment to making sun protection more inclusive.
Tesco's category director for Beauty and Personal Care Marianne Aitken said: "With people beginning to prepare for holidays abroad and as we move into spring in the UK, it's important that our customers can stay safe in the sun, whether at home or overseas.
"Covering the VAT cost on our Tesco Soleil range since 2021 has helped reduce prices for our customers, and this summer we'll continue to help them stock up on what they need with a great range at affordable prices.
"At Tesco, we think everyone should feel able to wear effective sun protection, which is why we have reformulated the range to be more inclusive, giving an invisible finish on all skin tones."
The reformulated products maintain essential protection against both UVA and UVB rays, which can cause skin damage even on cloudy days in the UK.
The UV index serves as a free and widely available prevention tool, helping people understand the strength of UV rays and potential sunburn risk on any given day.
The higher the UV index number, the less time it takes for skin to become damaged by the sun.
