While personal style is very individual, some clothing items may be more suited to certain age groups than others.
A fashion influencer for women over 50 claimed that ladies in their 60s and beyond should ditch "slouchy" trousers in 2024.
According to Annemarie from My Over 50 Fashion Life, there is no place in a middle-aged woman's wardrobe for baggy trousers.
She said: "Something that is currently fashionable with younger people is the slouchy trouser. This is a trouser that's hanging over the shoe or rolled up over the top of the shoe but the back of it's dragging along the ground.

"That's not going to be around for very long. That's also not a look - it might be current at the moment - but it's not a look that I'm wearing. I think, 'Leave that one to the 30-year-olds,' - if you want to wear it and get your trousers dirty on the ground, that's up to you."
For women over 60 who want to wear this style, the expert suggested it may work better for taller people.
The fashionista provided a second tip for women in this age group. Skinny jeans are a staple in many women's wardrobes but according to Annemarie, there's a right and a wrong way to wear them.
She said: "If you've got skinny jeans, don't wear them with a skinny top. That puts you back 10 years."
She also told women to avoid wearing skinny jeans with tunics or dresses over the top, as this is a dated look.
Rather, women in their 60s and beyond should pair their skinny jeans with a blouse that they can "zhuzh out a bit".
Alternatively, ladies can wear a loose, baggy top to create a contrast. For women who are still keen to wear a skinny top with skinny jeans, it's important to pair this look with a more oversized jacket. The influencer said: "Skinny and skinny is just not 2024."
According to Annemarie, "baggy and baggy" is also one to avoid. She warned against pairing baggy, slouchy trousers with an equally shapeless top.
While this is a popular style among young people, and a particularly "coastal" vibe, it may be too "extreme" for mature women.
This may be because overly baggy clothing does not accentuate a woman's shape or flatter her best assets.

But while the fashion influencer is not keen on overly loose clothing, she is partial to an "oversized" garment once in a while.
She said: "I love an oversized shirt or T-shirt or jumper, but a size for an elephant that they're selling as a size eight, I can't do."
Another way middle-aged women can improve their looks and appear younger than their age is by giving their hair a makeover.
A hair expert shared the thicker, fuller hairstyle will make you look younger than straight hair.
