There are plenty of ways women over 50 can look younger than they are. From anti-ageing makeup hacks to flattering hairstyles to wardrobe revamps, ladies have lots of routes to go down rather than cosmetic procedures.
A style influencer for women over 50 told middle-aged women that they can drop a decade in 10 minutes if they avoid wearing dark colours around the face.
Deirdre from 50 & Fabulous with My Friend Deirdre asked on her YouTube channel: "What can you do right now - or in the next 10 minutes - to look 10 years younger?"
She told women over 50 that they can look "younger, fresher and more vibrant" by "lifting and brightening the area near their faces". She suggested ditching black jumpers and tops in favour of lighter ones. Alternatively, if you're set on wearing dark colours on the top, add a lighter accessory.

The fashionista said: "Your aim is to cast a young-looking light onto your face - and you can do this in a number of ways."
Head-to-toe black may seem like a chic option but according to Deirdre, dark colours around the face do not always work for those who want to look younger.
Deirdre's first tip is to wear light-coloured tops and dresses, or bright, bold ones. She claimed that these choices will "reflect light and life onto your face".
For those who want to stick to all-black outfits, jewellery and accessories can also lift and brighten the face.
A colourful, patterned scarf could do the trick for those who are keen to experiment with colour. For a more muted look, women over 50 can accessorise with a pale scarf or string of pearls.
The expert explained why women of this age might want to avoid totally black ensembles. She said: "You need to be careful with black, as it may reflect shadows onto the face and drag it down a little bit."
When deciding which colour to wear near the face, women in their 50s and above should take into consideration which tones complement them.
Deirdre showed women how they can put these tricks into practice at home as she shared an example from her own wardrobe.
The fashion enthusiast explained that she likes to pair her dark navy jeans and black heels with a bright blue ribbed jumper.
She added that wearing a lighter, brighter colour on her top half means she can "get away with" darker bottoms, which have the added appeal of making the legs appear slimmer.

Deirdre completes the look with a long, metallic necklace - another component that reflects light onto the face.
While blue may be the expert's colour of choice, women over 50 can go for whatever shade flatters them, whether this is another bright colour or a pale tone such as ivory or grey.
Deirdre shared a second tip for women over 50 who want to look younger, urging them to "stop" wearing a trouser style that is "tricky" to pull off.
They may also want to get rid of a particular type of dress that "does none of us any favours".
