The right style choices can express your personality, flatter your figure and even take years off your age. However, the wrong style choices can leave you looking bland and older than your years.
A personal stylist spoke exclusively to GB News about how mature women can revamp their wardrobe to look "10 years younger".
Inspired Styling's Abi Lees, who specialises in helping middle-aged women feel their best, advised ladies aged 45 and upwards to ditch their black clothing.
While black is a neutral, staple colour that goes with everything, the style guru claimed that it does not flatter women in midlife.
'You might think black is chic and timeless, but it really ages you and drains your complexion'

Abi told women: "Stop wearing black! You might think black is chic and timeless, but it really ages you and drains your complexion after a certain age."
This doesn't mean you must exclusively wear bright colours like canary yellow and hot pink when you reach midlife. If you love dark colours, consider swapping black for deep browns and blues.
For those who aren't sure what suits them, a colour analysis session with a professional can identify your "wow colours". Wearing more of these will "make you look fresh-faced and glowing".
While you're throwing out all of your black clothes, Abi suggested having a wardrobe clearout.
She stated: "Unless they’re classic fits, vintage or back in fashion again, clothes that are older than 10 to 15 years are likely ageing you.
"Remove frumpy, baggy clothes and anything with an outdated pattern such as ditsy florals and paisley.
"Knee-length skirts tend to look old-fashioned, so remove these in favour of either midi, maxi or mini skirts to look younger."
With the pieces that are left post-declutter, Abi advised middle-aged women to look to modern styling techniques for inspiration on how to wear them.

"Sandwich dressing, jumpers worn with a 'French tuck', sleeves pushed up, and layered pendant necklaces will have you looking modern in no time," the expert claimed.
"Try outfit layering such as wearing a crisp white loose shirt undone over a vest top, or a shirt collar and cuffs peeking out from a sweater."
Also speaking exclusively to GB News, Deirdre Nicholas from 50 & Fabulous with My Friend Deirdre named the clothing item mature women might want to ditch.
The fashionista told women over 50 to stop wearing a "frumpy" type of skirt that "makes anyone look older".
