Popular high street retailers will close stores for good within weeks - Clarks, M&S and Homebase
PA
Huge retailers Clarks, Boots, Marks & Spencer and Homebase will close UK stores in the coming weeks.
Some of the retailers will shut even more stores in the following months.
The high street is constantly changing as retailers open and close stores.
This is often done when there are similar stores nearby or if new stores are going to open.

A Clarks spokesperson told GB News: "We continually review our retail estate to ensure we have stores of the right size and located in the right places to offer our consumers the best possible experience of our brand, and that work for the profitability of our business. This results in the opening, refitting and sometimes closure of stores.
"Regrettably, we have closed a handful of stores over the last few months, but are delighted to have opened eight new stores across the UK this year, including new stores in Taunton, Camberley, Manchester, Reigate, Stratford Upon Avon, Peckham, Edmonton and Belfast."

A spokesperson said: "Evolving the store estate in this way allows Boots to concentrate its team members where they are needed and focus investment more acutely in individual stores with the ambition of consistently delivering an excellent and reliable service in a fresh and up-to-date environment."
