"It can be one of the most healing ointments you will ever put on your skin"

As women age, skin concerns such as wrinkles and sagging can become prominent, but achieving a youthful, radiant complexion is still possible.

An esthetician has shared a product she uses daily to protect and heal her skin. In the video entitled "10 life-changing ways Vaseline can improve your skin for good", the expert explained the benefits of petroleum jelly for your skin.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, Peaches Skin Care, Lisa Pfeiffer said: "It can be one of the most healing ointments you will ever put on your skin."

"It has a triple purification process and we know it is clean. I have been a holistic esthetician for almost 40 years and have helped hundreds of thousands of people with their skin and lots of them have benefitted from Vaseline."

Lisa advised women to apply Vaseline in the morning to protect their skin, explaining that it acts as an occlusive by "locking in moisture".

The esthetician said: "Your skin is very dehydrated in the morning, as the skin in the body has been doing a lot of work at night.

"In the morning, wash and then put some Vaseline all over your face, maybe for an hour or until you shower."

She also advised applying Vaseline to moist areas as this helps the skin to sweat.

The skin guru added: "It is not going to block up your pores or cause blackheads. It can really protect your skin."

Lisa suggested that if your skin is irritated, Vaseline can help soothe and relax it by forming a barrier that seals in moisture.

She advised: "Put Vaseline right over your moisturiser lightly and let it act as an occlusive, locking in any moisture."

Women may also benefit from applying Vaseline to their eyebrows. While it does not grow your eyebrows, it does keep the area "very protected".

"I like to use it with a little spoolie and I will put a little Vaseline on it and brush my eyebrows up to make them look nice," the expert said.

In other skin care news, a doctor has shared three vitamins to help boost collagen production.

Speaking on YouTube, Dr Sam Bunting said: "We cannot talk about collagen, preserving it, building it and preventing loss without talking about vitamins A, B and C.

"Vitamin A is probably the most important and really is the gold standard when it comes to preventing the signs of ageing."
