Looking after your skin is important no matter how old you are, to preserve its appearance and more importantly, its health.
However, as we get older and our skin matures - showing the tell-tale signs of ageing - being strategic about skin care becomes a major concern for many women.
Common signs of skin ageing include fine lines and wrinkles, sagging, jowling and dryness.
And while skin care alone can not reverse these physical changes entirely, the right routine and active ingredients can certainly help.
Roberta practices gentle exfoliation to maintain cell turnover
Roberta Perry
GB News spoke exclusively to Roberta Perry, owner of ScrubzBody Skin Care, about how she maintains a youthful glow in her 60s.
Roberta stated: "As an almost 63-year-old - and I can't believe we're here - I have learnt a few things."
The expert relies on strategic skin care products and healthy lifestyle habits to maintain a great complexion.
In addition to cleansing, Roberta practices "regular gentle exfoliation" to "maintain cell turnover".
She told GB News that this has been her skin care saviour for almost two decades: "I have been exfoliating daily for 19 years."
According to the experts at Nivea, exfoliation has a myriad of benefits, including removing dead skin cells, stimulating blood flow to flush out toxins, brightening and improving the appearance of the skin, encouraging skin turnover, improving the absorption of moisturisers, helping to prevent clogged pores, and increasing collagen production over time.
However, it's important not to overdo it, as this can put the skin under stress. Speak to a dermatologist for tailored advice, and always follow the instructions for your chosen product - it's unlikely you'll need to exfoliate every day.
The experts at Nivea advised women to exfoliate their faces twice a week, and slightly more if their skin is oily. For more mature skin which goes through cell turnover more slowly, just once per week might be enough.
Roberta also keeps her skin hydrated by having a diligent approach to moisturiser; her secret is applying it right after a shower to "lock in the damp nourishment".
To get the most out of your moisturiser, it's important to perfect your technique - and according to one dermatologist, you're probably doing it wrong.
Roberta continued: "I also wear a fabulous, zinc-based tinted moisturiser that contains SPF 30 for an even skin glow and natural protection."
According to the experts at City Skin Clinic, zinc, which works as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory agent, sebum regulator and cell regenerator, can "transform your complexion".
At night, the 63-year-old replenishes her skin with a "wonderful" night cream.
Roberta supplements her stellar skin care regime with lifestyle habits that support a great complexion.

Drinking "copious amounts" of liquids that "don't include caffeine, soda or sugary drinks" helps her stay hydrated and prevent inflammation.
The skin care guru also pays close attention to her diet, avoiding ultra-processed foods in favour of whole ingredients; if it's full of things she can't find in her kitchen or she can't pronounce, she doesn't eat it.
When she exercises, Roberta makes sure to do this in the morning when the sun's rays aren't too strong to avoid sun damage.
Finally, the skin care expert takes her sleep schedule very seriously, which is hailed by experts as a great anti-ager. "I get around seven hours per night," she shared.
