Following a good skin care regime twice a day can make your skin better, and there is one product that shouldn't be skipped.
An expert spoke exclusively with GB News about why cleanser is a vital product to include in the morning and at nighttime.
Skin care expert at Crystal Clear Sharon Hilditch explained a good cleanser should be used before any other products.
Sharon said for the morning: "Use a mild, hydrating cleanse to remove excess oil and overnight build-up without stripping the skin's natural moisture barrier.

"This keeps your skin fresh and prepped for the day. Regular use of a gentle exfoliant will also prevent the build-up of dead skin cells, which cause congestion and the skin to become dull and lifeless."
Look for a cleanser that contains "oxylastil" to enhance "oxygen levels within the skin".
Double cleanse your skin in the evening, "especially if you wear makeup or SPF" during the day.
The skin care expert explained: "The first cleanse removes product; the second allows the skin to benefit from the active ingredients within the cleanser."
When choosing the best products to use in the morning, the expert recommended ones rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C or niacinamide.
Sharon advised: "These help protect against environmental damage like pollution and UV rays while brightening the skin. Vitamin C, for example, neutralises free radicals and boosts collagen production."
The "most crucial" ingredient in the morning is an SPF of 30 or higher, which should be used "daily".
The expert said: "UV exposure accelerates ageing and causes sun damage. A broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 shields against both UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) rays."

An evening skin care routine should be focused on repair, using ingredients such as "retinol and hyaluronic acid".
Sharon said: "Retinol speeds up cell turnover and helps with fine lines, while peptides boost collagen. Hyaluronic acid hydrates and plumps up the skin overnight."
To keep your skin hydrated in the evening, lock in the moisture "with a rich night cream of facial oil".
The pro noted: "Since skin repairs itself overnight, a nourishing moisturiser or face oil helps retain hydration and supports the skin barrier. Look out for products containing high percentages of active peptides, which help to stimulate new skin cells and collagen production."
