Sam has regularly given updates on his cancer.
Earlier this year he revealed he was receiving treatment for the stage three blood cancer.
However, he has opened up on the condition and said chemotherapy failed to work.
He shared he was in a "fight for his life" while speaking with Australian Story.
He praised a new experimental drug that has been helping him fight off his cancer, but knows it won't work forever.
Sam added he is not afraid of dying, however.
He said: "I'm not in any way frightened of dying.
"That doesn't worry me. It's never worried me from the beginning, but I would be annoyed.
