Salma Hayek looked incredible as she celebrated her 57th birthday at the weekend. She has praised two skin care techniques that are not commonly used
Salma Hayek turned 57-years-old on September 2 and she celebrated by sharing some stunning snaps by the beach.
The actress was praised for her youthful appearance and she has spoken about her skin care routine in the past.
As she approached her 50th birthday, Salma previously suggested it was tepezcohuite that contributed to her young looks.
The ingredient is often used to treat burns, but it can also be a powerful moisturizer for anyone with dry skin.
She credited a rare ingredient

It comes from a bark tree with other parts of the tree sometimes used in anti-ageing skin care products, although not much research has been done into whether this works.
"I use an ingredient called tepezcohuite that's used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there's no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us," Salma told ELLE while speaking of the ingredient in 2015.
She added then that she only used creams on her face, rather than enhancements like Botox or fillers.
When talking about skin care, the Grown Ups actor previously said she doesn't wash her face in the morning.
Splashing your face with cold water or a cleanser may be the first thing many people do in the morning, but Salma suggested skipping this step could benefit the skin.
"My grandmother taught me never to wash my face in the morning," Salma told GQ.
"What happens at night is that your skin produces all the oils that your skin needs to look youthful. It regenerates."
Wash your skin really well at night, 'but don't wash the hard work of your skin in the morning", she suggested.

Forgoing a face wash in the morning is a rumoured anti-ageing tactic.
However, not all skin care professionals agree with this.
Everyone should wash their face in the morning and at night, according to Healthline.com.
However, experts told the website if Britons only remember to wash their face once a day, this should be done in the evening. Overwashing can lead to dry and damaged skin which might cause wrinkles.
