Sainsbury's makes thoughtful change to meal deals for the first time in all stores

For the first time, all sandwiches sold include a donation.

Many of the sandwiches will be an option in the retailer's £3.50 meal deal.

Some of the more premium additions will be available in the £5 meal deal.

Shoppers will see returning favourites as well as two new Taste the Difference options.

The new Taste the Difference Christmas Cracker Club Sandwich contains shredded smoked chicken, smoked bacon, pork, sage & onion stuffing, spiced cabbage, and real ale chutney with a gravy mayo.

The Taste the Difference Ho Ho Hot One mixes it up with firecracker shredded chicken on kalonji seed bread with crunchy cranberry slaw.

For the first time, Sainsbury's will also make a donation for all of the products bought.

The festive sandwiches include a 10p donation for Sainsbury’s Nourish the Nation programme in partnership with Comic Relief to help tackle food poverty.

Christmas sandwiches have also made it onto shelves in other stores.

Asda added the new options to its meal deals, with prices from £2.50.

Tesco recently launched festive offerings in its meal deal range.
