Sir Michael Caine owned a seven-bedroom home worth millions of pounds

Michael Caine is a British actor who has travelled the world during his impressive career.

Despite jetsetting over the years, the actor chose leafy Surrey to settle down in.

He was the owner of a seven bedroom mansion until it was sold in 2022 for £3.5million.

The 89-year-old enjoyed luxury at the property that was kitted out with a swimming pool, gym and even a cinema.

It is also equipped with a bar and a two-bedroom cottage on site.

He first bought the 12,000 sq ft home around 23 years ago for £1million.

The property in Surrey was based near the town of Leatherhead, less than 20 miles from London.

Although it is close to the capital, it offers some respite as there is plenty of beautiful countryside.

Leatherhead has "stunning landscapes" including "ancient oak woods and tranquil ponds", according to Visit South East England.

It continued: "Leatherhead is a historic market town, surrounded by outstanding countryside and is the gateway to the nationally important and beautiful Surrey Hills.

"It is not a large town, about 9,000 population, but it contains a surprising selection of shops, activities and events that draw visitors from nearby towns and villages.

"The town is also well placed for visits to the stunning countryside that surrounds the whole of Leatherhead.

"Well marked paths and guided walking routes quickly lead from the town centre to open countryside."

Sir Michael's home was sold for an above-average price for the area.
