Completing an extension can "increase the value of your house by up to twice as much"
There are many routes to go down if you want to boost your property's value before selling it.
According to one expert, investing in an extension could be the way to see a "significant" jump.
House renovation expert and owner of Ray White Builders, Ray White, spoke exclusively to GB News about how Britons can dramatically increase the price of their home if they intend to make a sale.
He advised completing an extension, encouraging owners to consider adding another bedroom or conservatory before putting their house on the market.

Ray stated: "If you’re not moving yet but want to make a change that raises the property value more significantly, you may want to consider an extension.
"Adding an extra bedroom or even a conservatory can greatly increase the value of your home.
"Although the cost to complete an extension is substantial, it can increase the value of your house by up to twice as much as it costs on average.
"If you are moving soon but want to show the potential of the house and bump up the value slightly, you could submit and pay for planning permission and use this in the marketing of your home.
"Doing this could add up to 10 per cent to your home’s value so it’s worth thinking about."
There are also small changes Britons can make to boost their property's value. Ray advised homeowners to pay attention to the appearance of their front door, as it's one of the first things a prospective buyer will see.
The expert said: "Something like changing the cabinet doors in your kitchen could cost you more than it could gain, so this is inadvisable as a quick fix before you list your home.
"However, redecorating your front door is a cheap way to boost your property’s value. This could be as simple as giving it a paint or adding a new knocker or numbers if you can’t afford an entirely new door.
"But, if a new door is the aim, you should have a professional install it to make sure it’s done properly.
"Doing this will also ensure your door looks the best it can to squeeze as much value out of the change as you can.

Another way homeowners can increase property value is with a strategic lick of paint. According to experts, certain colours have the power to entice interested parties, while others can "kill your property's value".
