If you're looking to sell your property, you likely want to fetch as much money for it as possible.
A real estate agent took to TikTok to share the "number one simplest" way to do this; a boost to your property's value does not have to mean extensive, overly costly or time-consuming renovations.
Owen Costello (who goes by @owencostello on the social media platform) advised homeowners not to underestimate the appeal of a fresh lick of paint.
He said: "What I love about this is that it's easy and cheap because you can do it all yourself if you want to." Of course, many people opt to get professionals involved.

According to the property expert, a paint job can "completely transform your home".
Fresh paint can inject some vibrancy into your space, making it look brand new, pristine and current -bonus points for picking the right colours.
When selecting your shade, Owen suggested that one colour trumps all others.
"The best paint colour you can use in Benjamin Moore - Chantilly Lace," he advised homeowners.
This is described on the official website as a "classic go-to white that elicits images of fresh cotton and pure silk".
The trick with paint is to go for something that feels neutral and clean, as potential buyers are more likely to picture themselves living in the property when this is the case.
A shade that is too outlandish, on the other hand, can have the opposite effect. While bright colours may reflect your own personality, your only aim when selling should be to appeal to a prospective buyer.
Owen claimed that you can add between $10,000 and $20,000 (around £8,000 to £16,000) in resale value with his simple paint trick. However, while the expert has made this estimation, this can obviously vary and is not a guarantee.
As for how much it will cost you to paint the exterior of your home, this depends on several factors including the size of your property, the amount of preparation needed, choice of paint, scaffolding costs, and whether you do it yourself or hire professionals.
The average cost to paint a house is between £3,000 to £6,000, according to the experts at Checkatrade.

A second expert agreed that white is the optimal colour to guarantee a house price boost.
He said: "I sell a lot of properties per year. Everybody always asks me as soon as I walk through the door, 'Is there anything you can recommend to make our house worth more?'.
"For the sake of photos and the general public, houses that are painted white garner a lot more interest."
