Singer-songwriter Adele once lived on an incredible estate in West Sussex

Global star Adele rose to fame with the hit song Chasing Pavements in 2008. Since then, she has amazed fans all over the world with her incredible voice and talent for songwriting.

It is believed that Adele currently resides in Los Angeles, in a mansion that was previously owned by Sylvester Stallone, costing her $58 million (around £45 million).

However, the English-born singer once lived at Lock House, a country estate in West Sussex.

The singer paid around £15,000 a month to live at the sprawling estate in 2011, according to Love Property. The vast space would have ensured privacy for the world-famous star.

Lock House is a Grade II-listed country house, meaning it is a building that is of special interest. The property, which was built in 1990, commands almost 85 rolling acres of England’s South Downs.

Real estate company Christie's Real Estate said that Lock House was "almost as big and luxuriant as her voice".

The property experts added: "More than 20,000 square feet of elegantly finished living space, with indoor and outdoor pools, a leisure complex with gym and spa, tennis court and pavilion, a summer house, three-bedroom staff quarters, a guest cottage and, of course, a helicopter hangar." Indeed, "Lock House is the type of house you can get lost in".

The West Sussex property provided a rural haven for the singer, whilst being only about an hour's drive from London.

Adele was born in Tottenham, London, before moving to Brighton with her mum at nine years old, and back to London again at around the age of 11 where she called Brixton home.

The singer's West Sussex mansion was located near the village of Partridge Green.

West Sussex is an idyllic spot and well worth visiting. One major attraction is Arundel Castle and Gardens. According to one visitor, it provides an "amazing" scenic experience.
