Britons have been warned that a household product poses a fire risk and has therefore been recalled.
Those who have purchased SPRiNTUS BoostiX iGo and BoostiX 36V Vacuum Cleaners have been issued guidance from the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS).

'The product presents a risk of fire and explosion'
OPSS
The risk level of the product has been deemed as "low", but it is still crucial that users follow the necessary steps to ensure their safety.
The OPSS stated: "The product presents a risk of fire and explosion. If there is a current peak, such as a shortcut on the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) of the motor, the Battery Management System may get overloaded and become damaged.
"The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
"The manufacturer has initiated a modification programme to upgrade affected products with an additional fuse.
End users will be contacted directly by distributors to provide instructions on upgrading their machine.
