Tesco has issued an alert to shoppers explaining that a cushion sold in the supermarket fails to meet safety requirements.

The Me to You Hugs and Kisses Cushion, manufactured by Carte Blanche Greetings, has been pulled from shelves with immediate effect.

Tesco explained that the recall was initiated because the cushion "failed safety testing and doesn't meet UK fire safety standards", although it did not share the specific issue.

This concern requires swift attention from customers who have purchased the item.

The supermarket advised: "If you've bought an affected product, please stop using it immediately. Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."

Shoppers can find their local branch in both the UK and Ireland using Tesco's store locator.

For more information, contact Carte Blanche Greetings directly at Cushions@cbg.co.uk.

Alternatively, contact Tesco Customer Services at 0800 505 555 (UK) or 1800 248 123 (ROI).

Earlier this month, Tesco shoppers were warned that popular air fryers sold in the supermarket pose a fire risk.

The dangerous items were stocked by other major retailers too, including Argos, B&M Bargains, Poundland and Robert Dyas. They were also sold via the Tower Housewares website.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) warned that the children's toy fails to meet toy safety regulations.

The recall affects products sold before November 15, 2024. A modified version of the product was placed on the market from this date.

"Owners of products sold prior to November 2024 are advised to contact the distributor they purchased from to request redress," officials advised.

Britons were also told to stop using a bicycle sold in the UK due to a risk of injury.
