Shoppers should look out for a 500ml brown and gold bottle packaged in a maroon box with gold writing.

A warning was issued by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) which shared more information on the recall.

A notice said: "The product presents a serious chemical risk as following analysis the cream was found to contain 213 mg/kg clobetasol propionate.

"Clobetasol propionate is prohibited in cosmetic products as exposure to it could cause skin irritation and may damage the endocrine system.

"The product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 or the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013."

The product is described as a tool for brightening the skin, diminishing discolouration and leaving the skin hydrated.

As a safety precaution, the affected batches have been pulled from sale and those who have purchased them should stop using them.

Product recalls should not be taken lightly as they are only issued when items pose a risk to consumers.

Shoppers were told to "stop using immediately" as two chairs were found to be highly flammable.

The OPSS said: "The product presents a risk of fire because, if the cover of the seat base were to come into contact with a naked flame, it would melt and allow the internal filing to catch fire and continue to flame.

"Improvements were also required to marking and labelling. The product does not meet the regulations of The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

"The product has been recalled from end users. Owners should stop using the product immediately and dispose of it safely."
