The products did not meet safety requirements

Consumers are being warned to stop using a Hot Air Styler sold on Wowcher due to a serious safety risk.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has announced a recall of the product and alerted Britons of the news.

The hair styling tool presents a high "risk of electric shock" to users. The recall has been issued because the product is supplied with a dangerous three-pin "clover" style plug.

This type of plug does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.

In other recall news, various Tower Air Fryers manufactured between January 2022 and April 2023 have been urgently recalled due to a fire risk.

The affected appliances could overheat and ignite during use, posing a safety hazard to consumers.

The OPSS advised those who have purchased the air fryers to "stop using them immediately" and unplug them from power supplies.

The affected models were sold by several major UK retailers, including Tesco, Argos, B&M Bargains, Poundland and Robert Dyas. They were also sold via the Tower Housewares website.
