Product recall: Vacuums sold on eBay recalled amid 'serious' risk of electric shock

Britons have been warned if they have bought two vacuum cleaners on eBay.
The models pose a "serious" risk of electric shock, making them dangerous for customers to use.

A warning has been shared by the Office for Product Safety and Standards giving shoppers more information about the risks.
It said: "The vacuums present a serious risk of electric shock as they were supplied with 3-pin ‘clover’ style plugs which do not meet the requirements of the relevant standard, BS 1363.
"Clover-style plugs are unfused, and due to the dimensions of the plug pins, it is possible for users to touch the live pin when plugging in or unplugging the plug from the socket.
"The instructions supplied were deemed inadequate and there were no warnings marked on the product or packaging.
"The vacuums do not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994."
The product alert was shared so customers with the items know not to use them. It also confirmed the affected products have been "destroyed" so they will no longer be sold.
This comes as Britons were warned of an Argos item that may cause injuries when used. The Cuggl Infant Carrier Car Seat with Isofix base has been recalled.
It could present a risk of injury as it has been identified a gap may appear between the handle and the seat shell, usually on one side. This can cause the handle to become loose or detach on one side.
